November 7 is the birth anniversary of the great researcher on cancer Madam Marie Curie. As a mark of respect for her contribution in the fight against cancer this day is commemorated as National Cancer Awareness Day. On this day the general public is informed of the significance of increased awareness about prevention of cancer and early detection. Mangalore Institute of Oncology conducted an awareness and screening programme on Saturday 13th November 2021 at Salihath School, Hoode, Udupi in association with the District hospital Ajjarakaadu, Udupi (N.P.C.D.C.S AND N.T.C.P UNIT). Dr. Venkataraman Kini delivered a talk on awareness about cancer and conducted a screening program for the interested citizens of Udupi. The program was attended by about 150 people and was appreciated by the audience.
