Dr. Manjeshwar Shrinath Baliga, Senior Radiobiologist and Incharge of Research at MIO was inducted as a fellow in “The International Institute of Organisational Psychological Medicine(IIOPM)” on Saturday 16th November 2019 at Powai, Mumbai. Dr.Baliga who has an adjunct degree of Masters in Psychology and Psychotherapy has been working on non-invasive Psychological Medicine especially power nap, visual and music therapy in mitigating stress in healthcare professionals and in people affected by cancer. Studies at Mangalore Institute of Oncology have shown that visual and musical therapy is very useful in reducing psychological distress and MIO is the first centre to have worked on this aspect.
