The Cancer Education and Awareness Cell (CEAC) of MIO conducted a half day CME at Alva’s Degree College Moodabidri on August 25th 2018. Dr Sanath Kumar Hegde Director MIO, Dr MS Baliga, in charge of research and Mr Rajesh Shetty Medical social worker spoke on the most common cancers afflicting the people of Dakshina Kannada district and how to prevent and recognize the signs of cancer at an early stage. The participants were also taught about the importance of breast self examination and the correct procedure to perform it. MIO is committed to corporate social responsibility and the Cancer Awareness and Education cell strives towards educating the general public on the appropriate knowledge on cancer cause and prevention. The program was attended by the management, staff and students of Alva’s college and well appreciated.
