Breast cancer is today the most common cancer in the world and to create an awareness, Breast Cancer Awareness programmes are conducted around the world during the month of October. The CEAC unit at Mangalore Institute of Oncology in association with Bethany convent Mother house Bendoorwell, Mangaluru organised a Breast Cancer Awareness Programme on Saturday 23rd October 2021. Dr. Krishna Prasad, senior Medical Oncologist delivered the talk on Breast cancer. He emphasised that every woman should know how her breasts normally look and feel so that she can recognize any changes that may occur. He also stated that knowing what to look for is important and a woman should get her regular mammogram and clinical breast exams done, as these tests can help detect breast cancer before she even has the symptoms. The program was attended by nearly 100 participants and was highly appreciated by the nuns and other women.
